Interhouse Athletics Carnival
As mentioned earlier in the week, we had to rearrange the days for the athletics carnival. The Years 3 to 7 Sports Day will now be Thursday June 25 and Infant Sports Day Friday June 26. Best wishes for all competitors.
Special thanks must go to Mrs Royle, Mr Smith and Mr Casey who have spent many hours organising the carnivals as well as Andrew Mair, our Groundsman, who prepared our oval so well for the carnivals.
Conclusion of Winter Season of Interschool Sport
Last Friday the Winter Season of Interschool Sport concluded. I would especially like to thank our teachers who dedicate many hours to coaching and supervising our teams. As well, the parents who came along to support our students need acknowledgement. Finally, I wish to congratulate our students who demonstrated our school’s important message of winning humbly and losing cheerfully throughout the season. Our Year 6 Rugby League boys won their final and now move onto the next level where they will play in a knock out final against the North West district premiers the first Friday in Term 3.
Free Dress Day and Pizza Party Day.
Due to the late changes to the days for the Athletics Carnival, the free dress day and pizza party day planned for Friday, will be rescheduled to a date in term 3.
Thanks for Semester 1
This Friday our school breaks for the mid-year vacation. I would like to thank all associated with our school for their wonderful support during the first semester. The success of Albany Creek hinges on teams of people working together with the common goal of ensuring that our school strives to achieve its vision, namely:
A quality education in an open caring environment.
The support and dedication from our staff, parents and students ensures that our academic, social, sporting and cultural goals are being accomplished to the highest possible standards. Well done Albany Creek!

WORKING BEE Garden & Landscaping Project
|
WOW, what a difference a day makes! Another VERY BIG THANK YOU to the following people for giving up their whole Saturday and hard labour to create the landscaped gardens at the back entrance of our school, Alan Erlandsen, Andrew Mair, Fanander Whisson, Jo Hart, Wendy Weller, Noel & Ruby Peinke. The patience and help from the students who attended are also much appreciated. None of this would have been possible without the kind and generous donation of soil from Paul Roberts of AV Jennings and the provision of expert bobcat services by Troy and Nathan of Smithys Bobcat Hire. With the good rains that followed the planting, we look forward to enjoying the results of these labours very soon. Look out for more fun Working Bee opportunities as this is an ongoing project. For more information please contact Ruby Peinke (P&C Garden landscaping Co-ordinator) on 0404 677 928.
